Crunch the Lycanroc, formerly known as Pebble, is a character who appears in The Legend of Fox the Brave. He is a large, broad-shouldered Dusk Lycanroc originally native to the Alola Region. Upon his debut in the series, he was found living in the Mystic Ruins, in a pack led by a Midday named Splinter. Though Crunch was initially rude to Boulder, he later warmed up to the Storm Fighter after his sister(of whom he was overprotective) evolved, and he realized she loved Boulder

Appearance[]
Crunch is a large Dusk Lycanroc, about a good six inches taller at the shoulder than Boulder. After the second battle with Dark Enerjak, Crunch had a large, ugly, jagged scar on his chest, a testament to how close he had come to losing his life against the evil being
Personality[]
Crunch initially appeared to be rude, pushy, and snide, often making fun of Boulder for his inability to properly roar(something he was learning with Splinter). He was also incredibly overprotective of his sister Dawn, and snarled at Boulder for the fact she chose to hang out with him
However, when he appeared later in The Dusk Wolf, he had mellowed out. Now calmer and more level-headed, with the understanding that his sister was her own person, and that she seemed to really like Boulder. Indeed, the two seemed to form something of a friendship, with that in mind
Though Crunch is still a very prickly and defensive person by nature, he is a kind-hearted person who cares about those close to him. In his own words, he loves Dawn, he just went about things the wrong way
History[]
Before the Series: Crunch-then known as Pebble-and his sister Dawn were brown to a female Midday Lycanroc in the Akala Sun Pack and a male Midnight Lycanroc who happened to be the leader of the Akala Moon Pack. A great battle broke out over them, leading to the death of their mother and their leader giving them up. Furious at this, Pebble ran off with his sister, and they soon learned about Dusk Lycanroc. Pebble was the first to evolve into it, choosing to change his name to Crunch. He also became incredibly overprotective of Dawn, something she chafed at
The War of Darkness[]
Battle in the Ruins[]
Crunch initially appears in the background, making occasional appearances. For the most part, he seems to treat Boulder rather rudely, and objects when Dawn insists on following Boulder and Kai to Station Square on their mission to help Fireball and Star. this leads to an argument between the siblings, and Crunch isn't seen after
The Dusk Wolf[]
Crunch is briefly mentioned when Dawn explains her past to Boulder, and why Crunch is so aggressive. Boulder later mentions him while they are on their way to Mystic Ruins, asking if he knows Dawn evolved. She explains that yes, she told him; She couldn't just go to Mystic Ruins to ask for Splinter's help and not meet with Crunch
He finally appears in person when Lycus attacks Boulder. Even after Lycus furiously explains how his father(Lucas) left the pack to take care of Boulder, Crunch stoutly tells him to leave if he has such an issue

Original Concepts[]
- Crunch was originally going to be a Midday Lycanroc unrelated to Dawn, and was going to be friends with a Jolteon named Havoc(after the Z-Move Gigavolt Havoc). Following the reveal of the Dusk Form, Crunch was made into a Dusk Lycanroc.
- Additionally, while Midday Form, Crunch was going to be his true name. When his backstory as Dusk Lycanroc was created, his name became Pebble, and he chose to change his name into Crunch after evolving.
- Crunch was originally going to be Boulder's rival for Dawn's love, but he was changed into Dawn's older brother.
- In his early days as a Storm Fighter, he remained a rival to Boulder, but this was eventually dropped. He still has a friendly rivalry with Boulder, but the two are quite close friends
- Crunch was initially described as "the Redpelt of Lycanroc" because of an aggressive personality. After The Dusk Wolf was remade, his personality was adjusted to make him a kinder individual with a more proper brotherly relationship with Boulder
