Darkness the Hedgehog (暗闇の中ザヘッジホッグ Zahejjihoggu in the dark) is a hedgehog that has been mutated by Dr. Eggman and is kind-of like Shadow's Brother. When he was a normal hedgehog, his name was James Dopa Hedgehog (ジェームズドーパヘッジホッグ Jemuzudopahejjihoggu). Dr. Eggman found him when he was only 4 years old, then mutated him to be like Sonic and Shadow, and that caused him to age 10 years. He was going to be used for Dr. Eggman's own plans, until Dr. Eggman told him to kidnap Sonic. He decided to be a good guy from that moment on. Dr. Eggman is now his greatest enemy. Darkness usually teams up with Shadow in games.

Apollo the EchidnaEdit

An echidna who saved Darkness' life in Sonic Heroes: Into the Thunder. Apollo is now on Team Flaming with Minder the Raccoon and his friend Darkness the Hedgehog. He was one of the 2 mutated animals that were mutated at the time Darkness was, the other was Minder.

Alex the ChickenEdit

Darkness helped save Alex from a fire in Sonic Heroes: Into the Thunder. Alex is now being a loyal servant to Darkness. Alex has met Sonic the Hedgehog and is one of the few people who doesn't consider him an ally. In Sonic Heroes: Into the Thunder Alex gives advice to Apollo, Minder and Darkness.

Minder the RaccoonEdit

Minder is a raccoon that Darkness has known since he was an ordinary hedgehog. Minder was Darkness' best friend and Darkness was Minder's best friend. In Sonic Heroes: Into the Thunder, Minder is on Team Flaming along with his friend Darkness and his rival Apollo. Minder is also a powerful wizard under the training of Jacob the Ghost

Jacob the GhostEdit

Jacob the Ghost is a ghost that is relativly close to Darkness. Reason being that it's actually Darkness' dad. Jacob died when Darkness was only 1 year old. When Eggman mutated Darkness, Jacob's DNA got created into a lifeform. Jacob helps teach Minder magical tricks (like telekenisis) and helps out Darkness in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing: Super Charged! and Sonic Heroes: Into the Thunder.

Shadow the HedgehogEdit

Acording to Dr. Eggman, Shadow is Darkness' brother and that's how Darkness got his name. Darkness and Shadow work together alot and in the new game called Darkness and Shadow (Tentative Title) they team up to destroy Dr. Eggman.

Dr. Ivo RobotnikEdit

Dr. Eggman mutated Darkness from a normal hedgehog, into Darkness. He mutated him for one sole reason. To eliminate Sonic. However, Darkness disobeyed and ran away. Eggman has been his enemy ever since.

Sonic the HedgehogEdit

When Darkness was a normal hedgehog, Sonic was his cousin. Therefore they are really close. However, Darkness does not remember anything about his family (including Sonic) in Darkness and Shadow (Tentative Title), therefore can not remember anything about how close they are. But he does know that Sonic is his cousin because Shadow tells him.

WeaknessEdit

Darkness has a weakness called a Ssenkrad crystal (if you notice the spelling, Ssenkrad is Darkness backwards). Dr. Eggman creates one of these crystals in Sonic Heroes: Into the Thunder. Another weakness is science. He really likes it, but it's his worst subject.

TriviaEdit

When Apollo the Echidna and Minder the Raccoon got mutated on the same day as Darkness, Darkness was the only one who did not get any robot parts.
Darkness can also be called Anti-Sonic, because his colors are reversed
