Sonic Heroes Return Boxart
Sonic Heroes Return is the sequel to Sonic Heroes, Introducing 2 new teams and 1 exclusively for Multiplayer mode, it follows the same gameplay as it's prequel, 3 different characters at once each with their own different techniques.

Gameplay[]
Team Sonic
- Team Sonic's gameplay is fast paced and of medium difficulty.
Team Dark
- Team Dark's gameplay is harder for more skilled players.
Team Rose
- Team Rose's gameplay is easy and shorter for newcomers.
Team Chaotix
- Team Chaotix's gameplay is split into 2 halves, one for the original team and one for the New Team Chaotix. Team Chatoix's levels are mission based and don't end untill you complete the objective. New Team Chaotix's gameplay is boss battle focused, keeping the future city from destruction.
Team Psychokinesis
- Team Psychokinesis's gameplay is more puzzle based and requires objects to be moved around in order to pass. Some levels require you to solve a puzzle or win a race before Kinesis Psychos, this is in Special Stages.
Multiplayer Mode[]
The Multiplayer mode has all the same modes as Sonic Heroes, with several included these are:
- Pinball (Get the most points in the Time-Limit)
- Bingo (Get a full house before the other player)
- Both of the above are in the Casino Park and BINGO Highway, respectivly.
- Battle (The same as boss battles against Teams)
- Hotseat Complete (One player at a time completes a randomly selected level, both play the same level and the one with the shortest time wins)
- Solo Story (One formation is chosen from each players chosen Team, puzzles designed for that formation are played with that formation only. Speed include getting to the goal in a Time Limit, Fly getting to the top and Power breaking through things, the Triangle Jump is achieved with a Parachute.)
Team Psychos are only playable in Multiplayer Mode.
Team Blasts[]
Team Sonic
- Same as in Sonic Heroes, Sonic can light attack.
Team Dark
- Same as in Sonic Heroes, all motion -apart from the team- stops.
Team Rose
- Cosmo randomely shoots flowers and amy and cream dash towards all enemies.
Team Chaotix
- Same as in Sonic Heroes, rings are gained depending on number of foes.
New Team Chaotix
- Dee loads Flage and Strum in her Jetpack (with cannons) and makes it malfunction causing the two to set on fire and rapidly attack. When in Speed and Power formation enemies are destoryed on contact for 10 seconds as a side-effect.
Team Psychokinesis
- The three join hands and teleport causing a Sonicboom destorying all enemies. For side effect, the team is transported to where they would be aproximatley 10 seconds further into the stage.

Special Stages[]
The special stages are obtained in the same was as in the prequel, collecting a key and make it to the goal ring without losing it. There are 16 special stages, getting the keys on the following levels will give you the chance to win a Chaos Emerald: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12. There is no special stage for Boss Levels and the final Chaos Emerald is automatically obtained by defeating the Egg Chao Cannon. There are twists to the stages depending on the team, these are:
Team Sonic
- The objective must be reached in a Time Limit.
Team Dark
- The objective must be completed without changing formation. (Formation gates are removed)
Team Rose
- The objective must be completed.
Team Chaotix
- All boost balloons are at the top.
Team Psychokinesis
- The objective must be completed before Team Psychos.
