Ion Ignition is a non-profit 2D Sonic Fan Game that takes place after the Astral Chaos Incident within the Astral Chaos Continuity. The game takes similar ideas to other fan games such as Sonic Vs. Darkness: True Nightmare Revived, Salem Adventure and Sonic Dimensions. It is also a spinoff game that follows the events of the Astral Chaos Incident which focuses on the third main protagonist, Ion the Hedgehog as his home dimension is invaded once again, this time he must fight against Sonic's Re-Upgraded Arch-Rival. Neo Metal Sonic as he attempts to take over the Astral Dimension with a newly created Synthetic A.I created to gather intel on Ion and control machines for Neo's Army. There are plans to release the game but, there currently isn't a developer set to make the fan game as of yet!

Gameplay[]

Much like many other fan games, Ion Ignition mashes elements of the Sonic Advance games along with elements of later modern Sonic titles creating a fast paced Action Platformer. There are many Mechanics that makes up the game that share similar properties to Sonic Rush, along with some that are unique to this game.

Mechanics & Features[]

The Mechanics and Features of Ion Ignition may be familiar to players who have played Sonic fan games and other Sonic titles such as Sonic Vs Darkness: True Nightmare Revived, Salem Adventure, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Sonic Rush, and the Sonic Advance subseries as elements from these games is what makes up this game.

The Life System is just like many mainline Sonic game where Rings are Crucial for Surviving each Level. Collecting 100 Rings without taking damage earns an extra life. Losing all of your lives of course leads to the dreaded Game Over Screen.

Boost/Burst Gauge[]

The Boost Gauge is, as it implies, the game's Boost System. it also goes by another name, The Burst Gauge. Both work similarly, the only difference is that the Burst Gauge is cut into sections which boosts by just tapping the boost button/Key which uses one section of the Burst Gauge.

Climb Dash[]

A new Mechanic that allows you to run up walls at high speeds while clinging to a wall. Press the Boost Button/Key to dash up the wall at high speeds.

Burst Spike[]

A mechanic that works like the Burst Wisp, Press the Action Button/Key to gain extra height at the cost of one section of the Burst Gauge.

Wall Jumping[]

Wall jumping is done by just pressing the Jump Button/Key when clinging to a wall.

Flip Dash[]

Expanding from the Climb Dash mechanic, Flip Dashing lets you flip over a ledge and keep your momentum allowing you to keep your speed going afterwards.

Air Dash[]

A mechanic that is taken from many Modern Sonic titles from Unleashed up to Sonic Forces. Mainly taken from Sonic Generations. A simple mechanic that lets you boost in the air at the cost of one section of the Burst Gauge.

Rings and The Shop[]

Rings aren't just your source of staying alive, they are also your in game currency. If you have rings left over after each Act or Zone, they are added as your currency for use in the shop which then you can buy character upgrades like Sonic The Hedgehog 06 and Sonic Unleashed, Skills which then can be used in any Non-Boss Levels.
