The Treaty of Protection was a contract made by the United Federation and signed by the newly-created United Regions of Gemton, which had just gained independance from the former^[1]. The treaty declared that the URG would have a certain amount of freedom from the UF, but G.U.N would remain in the regions for protection. In return, Gemton had to export a certain amount of smaragdus, a jewel found only in the Gemmeus Hills, annually to the Federation. The treaty was revoked by the Gemton government with permission from Her Majesty Queen Oliga III. This reversed the treaty's contents, though Gemton would later gain complete independance through other means.
